FUEL SURCHARGE POLICY – Canada

Iron Mountain applies a fuel surcharge that is adjusted monthly. Adjustments to the fuel surcharge to transportation and shredding services are effective the first of each month and publicly posted on www.ironmountain.ca approximately two weeks prior to the effective date.

The fuel surcharge is indexed to the Canada average diesel pump price survey established by MJ Ervin and Associates, a company that monitors fuel prices across Canada daily. The price reflected is for the most recent four (4) week period ending one week prior to the first day of the calendar month. For example, the January 2016 surcharge amount is based on the reported period November 23, 2015 through December 21, 2015.

Effective January 2016, Iron Mountain will be amending the fuel surcharge table for the first time since its inception in 2007 to more closely reflect the operational changes to Iron Mountain’s transportation services that have transpired during that time period. These changes have affected the amount of fuel consumed when performing customer services. Please be assured that we will continue to evaluate all factors to identify and deliver optimal performance while controlling costs.

Please view the following link The Kent Group to reference the MJ Ervin and Associates Canada National Average Diesel Fuel Prices for the reported diesel fuel pricing information. (NOTE: If you click on the link, you will leave Iron Mountain’s website. Iron Mountain is not responsible for the content or information provided on other web sites.)

Fuel surcharge percentages and thresholds are subject to change without prior notice. If the fuel surcharge price basis rises above $1.985/liter, or there are changes to the thresholds, the table will be updated.

Billing: The fuel surcharge will be included on your invoice as a separate line item. The fuel surcharge will be applied against transportation-related charges to include Trip Charges and Shredding Services. For a complete list of line items included in the fuel surcharge calculation, please refer to the following table: - click here to view the table.

Examples

Assume that your contracted trip charge is $30. If average fuel price increases to $1.45/liter, the surcharge would be 10.10%. In dollar terms, that would be $30/trip X 10.10% = $3.03/trip surcharge.

For a shredding customer, the surcharge will be applied to your shredding services. If you have a shredding service charge of $100, the surcharge would be $100 X 10.10% = $10.10/shredding service surcharge.

If average fuel price increases to $1.65/liter, the surcharge would be 12.5% and, using the same math, the surcharge would be $3.75/trip or $12.50/shredding service.
